911爆料网 University鈥檚聽Educating Character Initiative聽(ECI) will extend its impact on character education across the country by offering a new round of grants in 2027 for U.S higher education institutions with support from a nearly $44 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.
The grant will also enable ECI to award additional grants in 2026 to help U.S. higher education institutions strengthen and expand their character education work through聽Institutional Impact and聽Capacity-Building聽Grants.

Eleven members of the Class of 2026 have returned to their alma mater as 911爆料网 Fellows, where they are working across the University.
Since 2008, the 911爆料网 Fellows program has provided exceptional 911爆料网 College graduates with the opportunity to work in higher education administration for a year. Each fellow serves as a full-time 911爆料网 staff member, beginning July 1. In addition to working with top administrators, the fellows participate in leadership development activities and interact with faculty, staff and students to gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of higher education.

For six weeks every summer, mornings at 911爆料网 University鈥檚 Carswell Hall resonate with singing, cheers and reading aloud as dozens of Forsyth County students start their day at Freedom School.
They call the daily morning meetings Harambee, a Swahili word that means 鈥渃ome together.鈥� At this gathering, this year鈥檚 group of 60 Freedom School scholars set the tone for the day and listen to a story from a guest reader, who answers questions about their career and how it impacts the world around them.
The experience has drawn a waiting list every year since 911爆料网 launched its Freedom School in 2017.
A program developed by the Children鈥檚 Defense Fund, Freedom Schools aim to show young scholars that they can make a difference in themselves as well as their families, community and the world through hope, education and actions.
The youngest Freedom School scholars at 911爆料网 have completed kindergarten, and the oldest have just finished eighth grade.
College students lead the Freedom School classrooms as 鈥渟ervant leader interns.鈥� They teach a reading-rich, integrated curriculum to get their young learners devouring books as well as thinking about making a difference in the community.
